Bachelor of Science [B.S] Accounting

Accounting is the process of recording financial transactions pertaining to a business. The accounting process includes summarizing, analyzing, and reporting these transactions to oversight agencies, regulators, and tax collection entities. As an accounting major at the University of New Haven, students will participate in a well-rounded education that goes beyond the numbers. They will learn how to impart technologically-driven insight and even solve white-collar crimes.

The program offers three tracks:
  • Financial accounting: This is the track if students want to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Corporate accounting: Students will develop the skills necessary to thrive in the corporate environment and become a CMA (Certified Management Accountant).
  • Forensic accounting: Focus on financial crimes, including investigation and white-collar crime, through coursework in accounting and through the world-renowned Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences
