Diploma Mechanical Engineering Technician
In this program, students will learn:
- Industrial Automation – robotics, CNC, and PLC programming, and the interconnectivity of these devices.
- 3D modeling and 3D printing – Autodesk Inventor software is used on laptops.
- Manufacturing process design and support – machining, metal forming process, hydraulics, pneumatics, other processes, lean manufacturing.
- Quality inspection and analysis of data.
- Graduates may enter the workforce directly or enter Niagara College’s Mechanical Engineering Technology (Co-op) program with advanced standing after completing bridge courses.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent degree including the following required course(s):
- English – any Grade 12 (C) or (U), or equivalent
- Mathematics – any Grade 12 (C) or (U), or equivalent
- Students with the knowledge of the below-mentioned subjects are eligible to apply:
- Manufacturing Engineering Technology – Grade 11 (C) or (E) or Grade 12 (C) or (E)
- Physics – Grade 11 (U) or Grade 12 (C) or (U)
- Technological Design – Grade 11 (M) or Grade 12 (M)
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
