Diploma Computing Science and Information Systems

  • New students must apply to Computing Studies and Information systems.
  • All new students will graduate with a Computing Studies and Information Systems Diploma.
  • Current students have until June 2018 to graduate with the current credential, Computing Science and Information Systems.
  • After June 2018 the only credential available will be Computing Studies and Information Systems.
  • This program prepares students for careers in the computer industry.
  • The program combines business courses, system and networking concepts, and programming languages.
  • By choosing appropriate courses, students may ladder into degree programs offered by other post-secondary institutions.

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must complete BC secondary school graduation (or the equivalent in another school system).
  • Students have one course short of BC secondary school graduation.
  • Students complete 19 years old by the end of the first month of the first semester of attendance.
  • Completion of a certificate or equivalent from a special needs program and has been in school for 12 years is required.

Language Requirements:

  • Students must have strong English skills. 
  • The students whose official language is not English must submit the English Language Proficiency scores like IELTS or TOEFL.
  • If the student does not meet the language requirements they can take English Language Learning and Acquisition (ELLA) program and complete it and pursue this program.
