Bachelor of Science [B.S] Animal Sciences: Animal Industry Emphasis: Production / Business Path
This degree encompasses science, production, marketing, research and utilization of animals and animal products in agriculture, entertainment and companionship. The Industry Option with the Production/Business Path prepares students for careers related to livestock agri-business, production and management. A strong animal sciences curriculum that includes genetics, nutrition and physiology combined a business component that includes economics, marketing, and management to prepare graduates for all phases of the livestock industry.
The knowledge of animal nutrition, pathology, and physiology combined with business, finance, and marketing strategies gained from a degree in Animal Sciences – Animal Industry in the Production and Business concentration forms a valuable career foundation for a growing field. Graduates in the Production and Business concentration might work for livestock breeders and producers, restaurant or grocery chains, farms, ranches, government extension offices, or the meat processing industry.
