- The International Studies program at Murray State University is designed to provide students with the essential knowledge and skills required for many successful careers. We offer an interdisciplinary, flexible curriculum.
- In choosing their courses, students can take advantage of this multidisciplinary approach and develop their own interest. International Studies is also a great choice and ideally suited for students who are interested in a double major and want to pursue a career in the international arena.
- Acquire broad knowledge from various academic fields including political science, economics, business, foreign languages, history, sociology, etc.
- Develop specialization in one of the seven thematic/regional clusters (Asia, Africa/Middle East, Europe, Latin America, International Development, Human Rights, and Comparative Studies)
- Develop a deeper understanding of other countries through diverse study abroad opportunities
- Gain proficiency in at least one foreign language
- Acquire analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Attain data management and analysis skills
- Develop their academic interest through various research opportunities including the Model United Nations program, etc.

Academic Eligibility:
- Applicant must have received or be receiving a high school diploma or a GED certificate before the term for which he/she is applying.
- Applicant submit your official high school transcript after graduation.
- If GPA is 2.0-2.99, applicant must also report ACT or SAT test score on the application.
Standards:
- High school GPA of 3.0 or higher (no ACT/SAT test score required for admission decision).
- High School GPA of 2.0 - 2.99 with an ACT composite score of 18 or higher (SAT 960 or higher).
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:
- All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSCE)
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
- Indian School Certificate (ISC)
- Intermediate Examination Certificate
- Pre-University Examination Certificate
- Students must have a Grade XII chemistry or Grade XII physics.
- Students also hold Grade XII math (Minimum math result of 55%).
Students are not required to take the IELTS or TOEFL Academic if English is their native language or if Students have spent at least three years at a secondary school where English is the primary language of instruction.
