Master of Landscape Architecture [M.L.A]
- This program is for students holding a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from an LAAB accredited program.
- It is intended to provide students with a strong intellectual basis for a broad platform for research in significant areas relevant to design disciplines. The program approaches graduate education in environmental design as an opportunity to investigate more thoughtful relationships between humanity and the natural and built worlds.
- Through the MSAED program, students will explore research paths leading to an expanded role for empirical and theoretical knowledge and inquiry-based leadership in the design professions. The degree program provides graduates with extensive research skills and experiences that enable them to identify and address complex problems facing the built environment currently and in the future.
- The MSAED program emphasizes collaborative research and cultivates original thinking in professional environments.
- The diverse coursework of the College of Architecture and Environmental Design’s undergraduate programs, coupled with graduate offerings from other degree programs at Kent State University, provides students with ample opportunities to choose areas of research uniquely tailored to their interests.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students must hold a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from an LAAB accredited program.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required on a 4.0 scale to be eligible for the program.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
- Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
