Bachelor of Arts [B.A] Music - Education

  • In addition to the range of music courses, ensembles, and applied private lessons required of all undergraduate music majors at Maryland, you will work with music education faculty members ever semester. As you become a stronger musician, you will also develop into a stronger teacher through teaching K-12 aged students on campus and in the field throughout your degree program. At the University of Maryland, we strongly believe that you learn to teach best by teaching.
  • Our undergraduate music education program is fun, rigorous, and will prepare you to enter the teaching profession with a diverse arsenal of knowledge and skills. Our graduates are highly sought-after in the job market; in fact, we have 100% job placement rate!
  • Music education majors at UMD are provided the same high quality academic and performance experiences afforded to all music majors. This includes hour-long lessons with a full-time member of our performance faculty on your instrument or voice, eligibility for our top performing ensembles, and a performance of a full-length solo senior recital.
