The Department of Jewish Studies offers a comprehensive examination of all aspects of the Jewish experience from an interdisciplinary perspective. The department addresses the historical, social, cultural, religious, and political life of Jews in the modern period and throughout the ages. Jewish Studies courses are open to all students. The Department of Jewish Studies draws on the Bildner Center's multitude of resources.
Jewish Studies as a major is versatile and helps develop useful skills anywhere. The student’s college major is only one of many variables to be considered when developing his career plans. Many careers do not require a specific major, but rather a wide range of demonstrated skills and accomplishments. Regardless of the career choices, increase marketability to employers through internships, responsible work experience, good grades and involvement in college activities.
