Bachelor of Fine Arts [B.F.A] Theatre Management
There is intensive study of Broadway and Regional Theatre along with specialized instruction in fundraising, grant writing, marketing, organizational structure and personnel and facility management. There are other theatre courses that the Bachelor is required to take in order to ensure success in this field: stagecraft, directing, script analysis, and theatre history.
Students in this program:
- • Receive mentor-style training working with experienced management and producing professionals.
- • Gain practical “hands on” experience at our on-campus theatre – the Jerry Herman Ring Theatre – in such areas as house managing, box office sales, marketing and all related business operations.
- • Intern for a summer at the Jerry Herman Ring Theatre as well as at a regional professional theatre or commercial theatre office.
- • Master various business software applications including desktop publishing, box office ticketing, spreadsheet, database management and word processing.
The Department of Theater Arts immerses students in the practices and the study of theatre enabling them to nurture and promote within their communities an engagement with the arts.
