Bachelor of Arts [B.A] Criminal Justice

  • The criminal justice degree program at Messiah University, one of the top Christian universities in the U.S., is a liberal arts degree that appeals to students who wish to pursue a career in criminal justice and to those who are still deciding their career goals. Students will gain a deep understanding of human behavior, including deviance, and social structures that preserve order and address crime. This will allow them to examine new and innovative practices in criminal and restorative justice, and grasp the concept of responsible service in the criminal justice field.
  • Students will receive a solid educational foundation in the three criminal justice branches – the courts, law enforcement and corrections. Their coursework will include subjects like victimology, law and the court system, corrections, law enforcement, and forensics. As students explore ways to help people achieve healing, wholeness, and reconciliation, they will become effective, compassionate agents of change in the world. Graduates of Messiah’s criminal justice program will be ready to enter a chosen career path, serve the common good and pursue ethical integrity.
