Diploma Aviation-General Arts and Science

  • Diploma in Aviation-General Arts and Science at Conestoga College allows students to complete this program in 2 Years.
  • Students are required to successfully complete two language electives (in one language) in order to graduate.
  • This dynamic three-year program gives the student broad and thorough training in all phases of the building industry.
  • This pilot training program is the only collaborative diploma program that offers students a choice between flying airplanes at Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre or flying helicopters at Great Lakes Helicopter.
  • The main concepts covered under the program are:​
    • Flight Management - Basic
    • Flight Lab I - Part A
    • Flight Training I - Part A: Post Solo
    • Helicopter Flight Management - Basic
    • Helicopter Flight Training I - Part A: Pre-Solo
  • Through pilot training at one of the flight centers and classes at Conestoga College, students can complete the Aviation-General Arts and Science diploma in only two years as well as the pilot training to allow them to undertake the Transport Canada commercial pilot license testing.
  • Graduates from the helicopter option will find initial employment in ground operations, teaching ground school, and dispatch positions to gain detailed knowledge of their company's operations.
  • The student to teacher ratio is 30:1 which helps increase in interaction between professors and students.
  • On average, 82% of students from the last three years found employment within six months of graduation.

Academic Eligibility:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or 19 years of age or older with mature student status.
  • Grade 12 compulsory English, C or U, or equivalent, OR Conestoga College Preparatory Communications
  • All applicants who meet the academic strength requirements must attend a program information session and present a portfolio of their creative work.

Indian Student Eligibility:

  • Indian students need to maintain an overall average of 60% in Grade 12th

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
