Master of Education [M.Ed] English As a Second Language
It offers you the opportunity to earn your English as a Second Language Endorsement. With this endorsement, you will be better prepared to teach English language learners and help them acquire fluency in both spoken and written English. The ESL Endorsement is valid at the grade levels indicated on your Professional Educator License.?
Through coursework and field experiences, you will learn how to modify your teaching styles for different students, abilities, cultures, and environments. You will be prepared to utilize a variety of teaching methods across academic disciplines, as well as employ instructional strategies and technology to engage all students.?
Candidates who seek a Bilingual Endorsement must take ENLE 52700 as an elective, as well as successfully complete the ISBE language assessment.?

Academic Requirements:
- Professional educator license with teacher endorsement
- Undergraduate GPA of the applicant should be minimum 2.75 on a scale of 4.0
- Submit official transcripts from each university attended
- Lewis University COESS graduate writing samples should be submitted
- Two letters of recommendation attesting the applicant’s success in the program
