Diploma Hospitality Management
- The Diploma degree in Hospitality Management at Douglas College is offered as 2 years or 4-term teaching program.
- It is an on-campus program offered on both full time and part-time basis.
- Students have to successfully complete 60 credits and this program is offered in fall, winter, and summer.
- Students beginning the program in the Summer semester should note that only non-HOSP courses will be available. HOSP courses are offered in the Fall and Winter semesters.
- The Hospitality Management Diploma program provides students with marketing and management principles associated with lodging and restaurant operations.
- For individuals already experienced in the field, the program offers an opportunity to expand marketing and management theory and practice in preparation for university transfer or management training programs.
- Students must enroll in and successfully complete four or five courses per semester to remain as Full-Time status.
- Full-time students taking three or fewer courses per semester will be re-designated as Part-Time.
- Students may have job opportunities as a Catering Manager, College Housing and Food Service Manager, Conference and Event Manager, etc.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students must complete BC secondary school graduation (or the equivalent in another school system).
- Students have one course short of BC secondary school graduation.
- Students complete 19 years old by the end of the first month of the first semester of attendance.
- Completion of a certificate or equivalent from a special needs program and has been in school for 12 years is required.
- Students have to complete foundations of Math 11 or Pre-calculus 11 or equivalent. MATU 0410 or successful completion of the Business Readiness Assessment are acceptable alternatives/equivalents for the Math 11 requirement.
Language Requirements:
- Students must have strong English skills.
- The students whose official language is not English must submit the English Language Proficiency scores like IELTS or TOEFL.
- If the student does not meet the language requirements they can take English Language Learning and Acquisition (ELLA) program and complete it and pursue this program.
