Master of Science [M.S] Health Science - Genetic Epidemiology
- Epidemiologic methods with genetic principles and techniques to identify how genes contribute to risk for disease. The genetic epidemiology faculty are actively engaged in a wide range of research projects, including research into neuropsychiatric disorders, birth defects, infectious diseases, cancer, kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and aging, in addition to methodologic research to develop and assess statistical methods for genetic epidemiology.
- Current and former students have conducted their thesis research on many topics including genetic susceptibility to diabetes, AIDS, bipolar disorder, cognitive decline, breast cancer, kidney disease, cardiovascular disease and asthma. Through collaborative research projects both within and outside the Department, students have the opportunity to develop their own ideas and implement the analytical methods introduced in the required courses.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students must complete a 4-year bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Students must complete their higher education.
- A GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale is required to be eligible for the program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
- Or, students completed higher education with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Submission of GRE exam scores is not compulsory but helps for a better chance of admission.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
