About this course:

  • The purpose of the Zoo and Wildlife Biology major is to continue to broaden our offerings to students interested in being stewards of God’s creation.
  • Zoos are heavily involved in conservation efforts associated with endangered species and students will be equipped to secure jobs in zoos to assist these types of efforts. Similarly, rehabilitation centers are involved in stewardship issues by returning injured animals back into the wild.
  • Students who are interested in science and have a passion for outdoors will also be interested in this major which will equip them for wildlife management graduate programs in natural resources.

The student will be able to:

  • Apply standards and principles of safe practice in the laboratory or field environment.
  • Understand ethical issues in the life sciences in light of a biblical/Christian worldview.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental concepts in Zoo and Wildlife Biology.
  • Conduct, analyze, and summarize research related to vertebrate wildlife.
