The program is designed for journalists and health professionals, who earn a master's degree in health journalism. Journalists and communications professionals learn the fundamentals of medical research and public health. Health professionals learn basic journalistic principles and ethics, and how to develop meaningful health stories. Those pursuing other master's degrees, (e.g., master's in public health), earn the M.A. in health journalism and communication in addition to the other degree.
