Master of Arts [M.A] English Education

  • The masters in English education is a one-year, intensive program designed to prepare to practice and transitioning teachers for careers as exemplary educators, teacher-researchers, and leaders in English language arts instruction.
  • Students in the program develop a deep understanding of the English language arts by learning how to access, analyze, and apply research and best practices for teaching secondary students (grades 7-12). This program balances the refining of disciplinary knowledge with pedagogical application of that knowledge in classrooms.

Academic Eligibility:

  • Applicants are eligible to apply to the program if students have earned a bachelor's or master's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 in the last 60 hours of a student's first bachelor's degree program or a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 in an applicable master's degree program.

Indian Student Eligibility:

  • The minimum requirements are an overall average of 60% in each year, as well as in all prerequisite subjects.
  • Subjects must include mathematics, chemistry, and physics in Class 11 and 12.
  • GPA of 3.0/4.0 [B Grade].

English Language proficiency:

  • Applicants from India, China, Vietnam, Philippines, and Pakistan should note that IELTS is the only proficiency score accepted by the Study Direct Stream (SDS) program.
  • Meeting the minimum English requirements does not guarantee admission. Students with higher English proficiency scores will receive priority in the admission assessment process.
  • Not all students will qualify for EAP-3106 in place of the required IELTS or TOEFL test scores.

Submission of GRE scores is not compulsory for this program, however, it is recommended to submit a minimum 292 score for a better chance of admission.
