- Students Program Graduate Coordinator will help them prepare their preliminary Plan of Study. Substitution of courses must be approved in advance. Once the preliminary plan of study is approved by the Program Graduate Coordinator, the student may have further questions for the director of the program.
- The Program Graduate Coordinator will assist students in arranging any plan of study-related meetings with the director. The approved Plan of Study must be on file in the ISD Office. Any changes to the Plan of Study must be approved and also be on file.

Following are the requirement of the program:
- The applicants must earn their bachelor’s degrees, and possess strong backgrounds in computer science or a related discipline
- The Program requires the Grade Point Average received in CSE coursework must be at least 3.0 based on Rackham's 4.0 scale.
- Successful M.Sc applicants usually have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.5/4.0, GRE scores of at least 70% verbal, 90% quantitative, and 40% analytical writing, and three strong letters of recommendation.
