?The programs have been planned to enable the graduate to meet, work, and communicate with scientists and engineers at all levels of research and development, design and production, sales and distribution and to participate in the rapid and efficient translation of the latest scientific discoveries into technological achievements.

The general curriculum has been developed to give the student a firm foundation in the engineering sciences supported by a thorough grounding and facility in mathematics, physics and chemistry. In addition, each student will choose an area of specialization in at least one of the Engineering fields of architectural, civil, biomedical, electrical, industrial, or mechanical, and mathematics, chemistry or physics. By being well grounded in both the basic and applied sciences, the student, upon graduation, will be well prepared to assume responsibilities in his/her field of specialization or continue his/her professional development through graduate studies.

The engineering science program is intended primarily for students who expect to pursue graduate studies, and it will not satisfy the licensure requirements for professional engineering registration.

The mission of the Engineering Science program is to provide excellent undergraduate and graduate education in engineering that will prepare graduates to meet Societies changing needs and aspirations.
