Bachelor of Science [B.S] English Education
- This single field program is designed to prepare English teachers of adolescents, largely at the secondary school level (grades 6 through 12). It leads to 6-12 teacher certification in the teaching field of English/Language Arts in Georgia. Candidates complete the equivalent of a major in English/Language Arts and a second major in pedagogical studies with an emphasis on teaching English/Language Arts.
- The English Education program aims to prepare teachers who have a broad, rich knowledge of the discipline of English (including courses in British, American, and world literature, language theory, and writing) and who enact an integrated, reflective, and theoretically informed pedagogy for English/Language Arts.
- This program is fully accredited by CAEP (the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation), is nationally recognized by NCTE (National Council of Teachers of English), and is fully approved by Georgia’s Professional Standards Commission for teacher certification.

Academic Eligibility:
- Graduation from high school with a GPA of 2.5 with qualifying test scores-or graduation from high school with a GPA of 2.6 without test scores(If educated outside of the United States, the required official evaluation must indicate GPA)
- Official transcripts of ALL student's high school or post-secondary records. English evaluations of all foreign documents will be needed. Students must have their foreign transcripts evaluated by one of the following credential evaluation services found at naces.org.
- Students High School transcript will need to have a document-by-document evaluation including GPA.
- Students College/University transcript will need to have a course-by-course evaluation.
- Results from your Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT).
- International students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
- Completion of the first two levels of English Composition college-level courses with a “C” or higher at an accredited American institution.
- Successful completion through Level Six of the Kennesaw State University Intensive English Program.
