Bachelor of Arts [B.A] Mathematical Sciences - Actuarial Science

  • In the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematical Sciences programs, students' mathematics degree coursework will teach them fundamentals of pure and applied mathematics, preparing them for a career in mathematics, natural sciences, computer science, social sciences or business.
  • As a mathematics degree student, students will choose one of the following seven concentrations:
    • Actuarial Science
    • Applied and Computational Mathematics
    • Financial Mathematics
    • Pure Mathematics
    • Quantitative Analysis and Operations Research
    • Statistics
  • Actuarial Science uses mathematics, statistics, and financial theory to study uncertain future events, especially those that relate to risk management and insurance programs. This concentration prepares students to work for insurance or pension consulting firms and the government.

Academic Eligibility: 

  • Students must have an official secondary school transcript to get admission.
  • Students are required to maintain at least a 2.0 overall GPA.

Language Requirments:

  • Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores. 
  • Students are required to submit an SAT or ACT score to be considered for admission. 

International students who currently or will hold a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score report.
