Bachelor of Arts [B.A] Mathematical Sciences - Actuarial Science
- In the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematical Sciences programs, students' mathematics degree coursework will teach them fundamentals of pure and applied mathematics, preparing them for a career in mathematics, natural sciences, computer science, social sciences or business.
- As a mathematics degree student, students will choose one of the following seven concentrations:
- Actuarial Science
- Applied and Computational Mathematics
- Financial Mathematics
- Pure Mathematics
- Quantitative Analysis and Operations Research
- Statistics
- Actuarial Science uses mathematics, statistics, and financial theory to study uncertain future events, especially those that relate to risk management and insurance programs. This concentration prepares students to work for insurance or pension consulting firms and the government.
