The curriculum is organized so that students understand the fi eld of computing as an intellectual discipline and are prepared to apply their knowledge to the solution of specific problems in a variety of fields. The program seeks to provide a coherent broad-based coverage of the discipline of computing and its specialized sub-fields. The Computer Science major prepares students to enter graduate studies in Computer Science or to begin working in the profession in such areas as software development, Web design, or network engineering.
