Research projects of current interest are being performed for soil stabilization, geotextiles associated with bridge abutments and highway embankments, fly ash as a binder for road subgrades and freeze-thaw on the resilient modulus of low plasticity soils. 

Technical publications and active participation on national and state committees is a trademark of the faculty in this area. 

Modern soil testing laboratories exist with state-of-the-art equipment.
