Geology is a broad and interdisciplinary field that encompasses other disciplines such as biology, chemistry, math, and physics. Geology majors are employed in engineering and management services for oil, gas, or metal mining companies. Graduates work as geologists, geophysicists, and oceanographers for the federal and state government. Some work as private consultants to industry.
