- Software Engineering represents the fastest-growing segment of software professionals - men and women who solve problems and issues in the development of mission-critical software to meet the needs of business and industry. The undergraduate program in Software Engineering, which is the only one offered at a public university in the state of Georgia, has the primary objective of preparing a new generation of software developers focused on the engineering of software systems; that is, those systems that meet specified requirements, that are built with mission-critical quality levels, and that are within cost and schedule requirements.

Academic Eligibility:
- Graduation from high school with a GPA of 2.5 with qualifying test scores-or graduation from high school with a GPA of 2.6 without test scores(If educated outside of the United States, the required official evaluation must indicate GPA)
- Official transcripts of ALL student's high school or post-secondary records. English evaluations of all foreign documents will be needed. Students must have their foreign transcripts evaluated by one of the following credential evaluation services found at naces.org.
- Students High School transcript will need to have a document-by-document evaluation including GPA.
- Students College/University transcript will need to have a course-by-course evaluation.
- Results from your Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT).
- International students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
