- The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program is a 39-credit, nationally accredited program that prepares candidates for initial certification in Maryland (and most other states) in elementary or secondary education.
- The MAT program, delivered in a variety of formats, is designed for recent graduates of bachelor or graduate degree programs, as well as career-changing professionals who desire to become teachers. Secondary certification areas include English, mathematics, science (biology, chemistry, earth/space science, physics), and social studies.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students must complete a 4-year bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Students must complete their higher education.
- A GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required to be eligible for the program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
- Or, students completed higher education with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Submission of GRE exam scores is not compulsory but helps for a better chance of admission.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
