Master of Science [M.S] Physics, Applied
- The program is designed to meet the demands of modern industry for young researchers with a basic knowledge of quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics and electrodynamics that they can apply it to problems in laser spectroscopy, photonics, magnetic resonance and surface physics.
- Rutgers offers undergraduate majors in physics and applied physics and a graduate program (MS/Ph.D.) in applied physics at Rutgers-Newark.
- Courses are offered in partnership with the physics department at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
- They have laboratory facilities for isotopic laser spectroscopy, eximer physics, advanced magnetic resonance techniques and surface physics.
- Theoretical and experimental research of our faculty has been funded by the National Science Foundation, by the Office of Naval Research and by industry.
- Interdisciplinary research is available in collaborations with faculties at Rutgers-New Brunswick, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (formerly UMDNJ) and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
