Sociology studies human social behavior ? how human behavior is shaped by interaction among people. Sociologists investigate how individuals are shaped by their social groups, from families to nations, and how groups are created and maintained by the individuals who compose them. A Sociology degree will prepare a student for graduate professional training in sociology or related disciplines. Many students pursue advanced degrees in applied areas of study such as criminal justice, counseling, gerontology, law, the military, public administration, social work, and teaching.
