- School Counseling: They know that the role of a School Counselor is vital to the success of students of all ages. School Counselors have a positive impact on the students they work with and help students gain a stronger understanding of themselves and their potential. The School Counseling program at UL Lafayette gives its students the tools, knowledge, and support they need to maximize their goals and to be successful in the field. Their program advances their knowledge of age-appropriate interventions to assist students in meeting personal, academic, and career goals.
- The School Counseling concentration meets the educational requirements for certification by the Louisiana Department of Education as a counselor, K-12 or ancillary counselor, K-12.By the successful completion of your degree program, students will have gained the following skills and knowledge:
- Apply the ASCA National Standards for Students to the school counseling discipline.
- Communicate with sensitivity, understanding, and respect in all professional interactions.
- Apply the ACA and ASCA Codes of Ethics to professional behavior the practice of school counseling.
- Deliver culturally sensitive individual counseling, small group counseling, and classroom guidance activities to students in K-12 settings.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a related subject from a recognized university.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
- Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
