Diploma Electrical Engineering Technology

  • The Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology at Saskatchewan Polytechnic is offered as 3 years program.

  • Class hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm daily. On average students are expected to complete 20 hours of homework each week outside class time.
  • Student's knowledge and skills will become more focused as they advance. Students will study:

    • electrical systems and transmission design
    • electrical machines
    • industrial control systems
  • Lab work and projects provide a hands-on focus on learning.
  • Students will develop a technical proposal, apply research skills to a technical problem, design and build electrical systems, and more.
  • Co-operative work terms are paid, so students will earn while they learn.
  • Saskatchewan Polytechnic arranges student interviews. It also gives a chance to develop important “soft skills” in job interviewing, professional attitude, interpersonal communication, and more.
  • The co-op employers require both a valid Saskatchewan Driver's Licence and a clean Driver's Abstract.
  • The average salary of the program goes up to 36,000 USD.

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must complete Grade 12 with a minimum of 60% in Pre-Calculus 30 from a recognized college or institution.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Students also have to successfully complete Physics 30.

Language Requirments:

  • Students must be able to understand and fluently speak the language of instruction (English) in the program. Proof of linguistic proficiency may be required.
  • Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL Scores.
