Diploma Hotel and Restaurant Management

  • The Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management at Saskatchewan Polytechnic is offered as 2 years program.
  • It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.

  • The program consists of 70 weeks in which Year 1is of 35 weeks and Year 2 is of 35 weeks.
  • Students can build core management skills that will use in any industry and focus on hotel and restaurant operations from the ground up.

  • Industry input ensures student’s education is relevant, such as training on up-to-date POS systems and leading front-office software (Opera).
  • In this program, students gain 6 weeks of practical work experience in various areas of the hospitality industry including front office, housekeeping, and other areas chosen specifically by the student as their after graduation focus.
  • Students can use their diploma to enter the third year of four year degree program at Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC (International Hotel Management).
  • The average salary of the program goes up to 38,000 USD.

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must complete Grade 12 from a recognized college or institution.
  • Students must have a GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Students must be 18 years old as of August 15 in the year of admission.
  • Students will need to have experience with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint prior to entering the program.

Indian students eligibility:

  • Applicants must have passed class 12th from a recognized board.
  • Students must be able to understand and fluently speak the language of instruction (English) in the program. Proof of linguistic proficiency may be required.
  • Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL Scores.
