Bachelor of Arts [B.A] Theatre Arts
The program trains students to teach theatre arts in elementary school or high school. Majors study acting and production as well as teaching techniques specific to the field. Students must pass an interview and be admitted to the College of Education before taking upper-division courses.
The knowledge of performance, theatre history and literature, critical analysis, languages, and culture gained from a major in Theatre Arts is applicable to a wide variety of careers. Graduates in Theatre Arts can pursue careers in arts advocacy, education, public relations, production, and performing arts. This major is also excellent preparation for graduate studies in theatre, literature, history, classics, and media arts.Theatre Arts, like many majors, teaches content and skills that can be applied to a wide variety of career fields. This major does not restrict you to a specific field.
