In completing the degree, students must declare either a Classical Studies emphasis, which focuses on the language, literature and culture of ancient Greece and Rome as foundational to humanistic studies, or a general Humanities emphasis, which offers a synoptic view of the history of ideas and the opportunity to study the reception of these traditions within a broader range of historical periods.
