Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must be eligible for active nursing registration in Alberta (registrants in the program must provide proof of active CARNA registration or equivalent each year)
  • To be a registered nurse, students have to complete a four-year bachelor’s degree, normally in nursing, along with:
    • One undergraduate course (3 units) in research methodology
    • One undergraduate course (3 units) in statistics
  • Students have to complete a CPR certification at the Basic Rescuer or Basic Cardiac Life Support or 'C' level.
  • GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 point system, over the past two years of full-time study (10 courses or 60 units) of an undergraduate degree.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Completed a 4-year Bachelor’s degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
  • Or,  completed a 3-year Bachelor's Degree must hold a Master's Degree.
  • Or, have a CGPA of 8/10 (or 7.5/10 for IIT's only).

Submission of GRE scores is compulsory for this program, and it is recommended to submit the scores (minimum 300) for a better chance of admission.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
