Bachelor of Science [B.S] Journalism

Journalism graduates hold positions as reporters, writers and editors for newspapers, wire services, magazines, online publications, radio and television; photo journalists; public relations specialists in both corporations and nonprofit organizations; writers in specialized fields such as science, business, education, medicine and politics; and administrators managing the editorial, advertising and business functions of publications and other mass communications services.

Most graduates of Bowling Green State University’s journalism program seek a position in the profession immediately upon graduation. As the communication industry develops new technology there will be even greater opportunities for trained journalists and public relations practitioners in both the print and electronic media. Technological developments such as the Internet, mobile devices and direct broadcast satellites offer promise of continued growth in the job market for journalism graduates.
