Why our program?

The M.S. in Kinesiology offers a core curriculum and three concentration options which lead to the development of future leaders, clinicians, coaches and educators. The program includes academic as well as practical experiences in the student?s chosen area of study.

Concentrations

• Exercise Science:?Prepares students for relevant certifications through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and other organizations. Graduates find a diverse range of employment opportunities in cardiac rehab, employee wellness programs, commercial health and fitness facilities and other clinical settings.
• Sport Management:?Prepares students for careers in a variety of sport businesses and organizations, including professional sport teams, collegiate athletic departments, sport communication, marketing and public relations, sport agencies, and health and fitness facilities. The curriculum follows the guidelines of the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA).
• Physical Education:?Prepares teaching and coaching professionals seeking career advancement in elementary and secondary institutions both public and private. Concentration courses focus on physical and health education methods, curriculum development, and ethics in sports.
