- The program builds on the research and academic strengths of the faculty in the Center for Biomolecular Science & Engineering.
- One notable output from our research is that UCSC is the primary release site for the public version of the human genome. We are also a major player in protein-structure prediction.
- The immense growth of biological information stored in computerized databases has led to a critical need for people who can understand the languages, tools, and techniques of mathematics, science, and engineering.

Academic Eligibility:

A bachelor's degree or it's equivalent from an accredited university awarded (conferred) prior to the quarter in which admission is sought.

?Applicants with a three-year undergraduate degree must also hold a post graduate diploma, Master’s Degree, or a higher degree.

Vocational, secretarial, associate, or technical degrees are not acceptable as a first degree.

Degrees that are completed through extension universities are not acceptable as first degrees.

Degrees that follow the Bologna Accord must state as such in the official transcript.

A cumulative or overall GPA of 3.0 (on a 4 point scale) in the last two years of undergraduate education.
Indian Students Eligibility:

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program
