Bachelor of Science [B.S] Agricultural and Resource Economics

  • Agricultural Education is a University of Maryland program that is a cooperative effort of the College of Agriculture and Natural resources and the College of Education. It is designed to prepare students to teach agriculture and related subjects in high school. Many high schools in Maryland and other states offer an agricultural curriculum that is associated with the Future Farmers of America (FFA).
  • There are two paths that students can take in preparation for a career as a high school agriculture teacher. Students can double major in Agricultural Science and Technology (AGST) and Secondary Education or students can earn a B.S. degree in AGST and a M.A. degree in education.

Academic Eligibility: 

  • Students must have an official secondary school transcript to get admission.
  • Students are required to maintain at least a 3.0 overall GPA.

Language Requirments:

  • Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores. 
  • Students are required to submit an SAT or ACT score to be considered for admission. 

International students who currently or will hold a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score report.
