Master of Education [M.Ed] Social Studies Education
Designed to build on the experiences of PK-12 social studies teachers, the program explores ways to utilize history, geography, sociology, philosophy, psychology, anthropology, economics and political science to prepare students for responsible citizenship in a diverse and democratic society. The program also accommodates adult learners seeking social studies teacher certification and experienced practitioners interested in teaching college-level social studies. Recent graduates of our master?s and doctoral programs teach social studies at all grade levels, including PK-12 classrooms, local colleges and universities, and national institutions of higher education.

- Students must have a baccalaureate degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Students must achieve an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the degree program.
