Master of Arts [M.A] Reading and Literacy Reading Specialist
This Master of Arts Reading Specialist degree is a State of Illinois entitled program that leads to endorsement as a Reading Specialist who is a transformative literacy professional committed to social justice. The program is recognized by the International Reading Association. Candidates complete clinical/fieldwork hours, practicum experiences, and courses specific to the varied roles of the reading specialist.

Academic Requirements:
- Professional educator license
- Undergraduate GPA of the applicant should be minimum 2.75 on a scale of 4.0
- Submit official transcripts from each university attended
- Lewis University COESS graduate writing samples should be submitted
- Two letters of recommendation attesting the applicant’s success in the program
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 79 in IBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.0
- PTE-A: minimum 52
