Doctor of Philososphy [Ph.D] Chemistry and Chemical Biology
UCSF’s Chemistry and Chemical Biology Graduate Program is further distinguished by providing training in the sciences related to chemical biology—integrating both with respect to atomic, molecular, and cellular levels of structure. The program provides an exciting environment for learning modern chemical principles and techniques to study significant problems at the interface of chemistry and biology.

- Macromolecular structure function and dynamics
- Nanomolecular design

Academic Eligibility:
- Applicants with strong backgrounds in chemistry, biology, and biochemistry are encouraged to apply
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or the equivalent from an accredited institution is required.
- GPA of 3.0
Indian Students Eligibility:
- Applicants must have bachelor of science or bachelor of arts degree from recognised institution
- GPA of 3.0 is required
- Applicants must have backgrounds in chemistry, biology, and biochemistry
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
