Bachelor of Science [B.S] Public Health
The School of Nursing and Health Studies (SONHS) and the Graduate Programs in Public Health at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine have developed a Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) to a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) or M.S. in Public Health (MSPH) 4 + 1 program.
The primary mission of the faculty of the BSPH degree program is to develop competencies in public health among students, equip students for entry-level public health positions, and undergraduate students to pursue graduate studies in public health and related fields. Students will be exposed to bachelor public health issues locally, nationally and globally. The curriculum is designed to introduce students to the core areas of public health—including epidemiology, environmental health, social and behavioral health, global health and health policy—and to prepare students to work with communities in ways that are evidence-based and culturally competent.
