In this program you have the opportunity to develop knowledge in the areas of teaching reading, writing, spelling, and vocabulary development. As a graduate, you be eligible to earn the Nevada Reading Specialist Endorsement. This degree program is fully online, with an innovative, virtual reading clinic designed to support the practicum experiences in the program.

Students will develop an in-depth understanding of literacy development, instructional methods, assessment, and literacy in a digital environment. They will be familiar with the professional literature related foundations and research in literacy studies. Teacher leadership is stressed with graduates able to interpret and evaluate research findings and apply them to literacy instruction.
