Master of Public Health [M.P.H]
- UConn has offered a Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH)-accredited Master of Public Health (MPH) degree since 1984. An MPH is awarded upon satisfactory performance in 16 courses, 48 credits, distributed among the program’s required, elective, experiential and culminating requirements.
- Full-time students can complete the program in 2 years; part-time students will require 4 years.
- Master of Public Health (M.P.H) degree is intended “to prepare public health professionals in order to benefit the well-being of Connecticut residents and others through organized, comprehensive, effective and just action.”
- The curriculum focuses on applied public health practice to prepare leaders for our state’s workforce.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students must hold a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent from a regionally accredited college or university.
- A cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 for the entire undergraduate career.
- If a student's degree is a 3-year bachelor’s degree from India, Canada, Australia, Sri Lanka, or certain other countries, the University of Connecticut will not consider the degree to be equivalent to a 4 year US bachelor’s degree.
Indian Eligibility:
- Students are required to submit a 4-year undergraduate degree with 70% or above from the recognized university or college.
- If a student's degree is a 3-year bachelor’s degree, the University of Connecticut will not consider the degree to be equivalent to a 4 year US bachelor’s degree.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
