Diploma Photography

  • Diploma degree in Photography at Georgian College is offered as 2 years (4 semesters) program.
  • It is an on-campus program offered on both a full-time and a part-time basis.
  • In this program, students are provided with both the technical and visual communication skills required for a variety of careers related to photography and imaging.
  • The three main areas of focus are digital capture, imaging technologies, and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Students use industry-standard hardware and software to capture and manipulate images in a way that demonstrates their skill and creativity.
  • Students have to successfully complete 23 program courses, 2 communications courses, and 3 general education courses.
  • In this program, students will learn in the fully-equipped studios using industry-standard tools and have the opportunity to network with leaders in their field and real-world clients.
  • This program also offers a part-time delivery format and provides the opportunity to complete the program in 4 years.
  • For the part-time program, students have to register on a course-by-course basis.
  • Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC) is a national photographic organization that invites the students to compete along with the professionals in their National Student Image Competition.
  • Graduates are employable as photographers, assistants, and retouchers in studios, labs, and media production companies.
  • The average salary goes up to 36,000 USD after completion of the program.

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students have to complete the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with Grade 12 English (C or U).
  • Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home school students may also be considered for admission.
  • Students who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing also get admission to this program.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:

  • Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
