- Messiah believes that teachers are problem-solving professionals. Their early childhood education major develops students' ability to solve problems and make decisions in critical areas of education such as instructional planning, instructional delivery, assessment, and classroom management.
- In addition to student's education coursework, they will develop a broad knowledge base by studying a wide variety of subjects such as mathematics, history, biology, literature, foreign language, psychology, and the arts. As an education student, students will also have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of an academic subject of their choice by completing a 12-credit disciplinary focus.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students must submit their academic records.
- Students' transcript records must include results/marks for individual courses, as well as diplomas or certificates required in their country as evidence of qualification for university.
- If a student's native language is not English, they are required to submit scores of either TOEFL or IELTS to English language proficiency.
- Students are required to submit their SAT/ ACT scores.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for full admittance to the TEP.
