The Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre is designed for students wishing to gain experience in all areas of theatre and the broader cultural sector.
The purposes of the Departament of Theatre are:
- To offer undergraduate and graduate programs of recognizable excellence
- To promote drama and theatre as civilizing agents within society
- To provide the auspices for enhanced understanding of current issues through theatrical expression
- To serve as a source and contributing partner for the enhancement and expansion of theatrical expertise
- To preserve and perpetuate theatrical traditions
- To educate and train future practitioners of performing arts
- To provoke and sustain interest in the theatre as a source of truth and insight into the human condition
- To present new plays which reflect the present condition of society
- To encourage and promote the exchange of ideas, research, and creative production in all aspects of theatre including related fields; and,
- To address the redefinitions of dramatic and theatrical styles, forms, and structures as they emerge as artistic responses to the changing world.

Academic Eligibility:
- A Candidate needed to provide Senior School Certificate or School certificate awarded after standard XII.
- English and Maths (advanced or academic level) are required in grade 12.
- Two Science 12grade level is required.
- One Additional 12 grade course (advanced or academic level) is needed.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:
- All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSCE)
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
- Indian School Certificate (ISC)
- Intermediate Examination Certificate
- Pre-University Examination Certificate
- Students must have a Grade XII chemistry or Grade XII physics.
- Students also hold Grade XII math (Minimum math result of 55%).
English Language proficiency:
- Applicants from India, China, Vietnam, Philippines, and Pakistan should note that IELTS is the only proficiency score accepted by the Study Direct Stream (SDS) program.
- Meeting the minimum English requirements does not guarantee admission. Students with higher English proficiency scores will receive priority in the admission assessment process.
- Not all students will qualify for EAP-3106 in place of the required IELTS or TOEFL test scores.
