Diploma Mining Engineering Technology

  • The Diploma in Mining Engineering Technology at Saskatchewan Polytechnic is offered as 2 years program.

  • Students gain hands-on learning which involves everything from computer simulations, to geology and surveying labs, to mechanical and materials testing labs.
  • In the second year, projects will help students to build skills in mine design, blasting, and ventilation and also carry out an applied research project. 
  • This program is a well-paying career that can involve surveying, ventilation, ground control, mine planning, or supervision.
  • Students need to be a team player, good at problem-solving, comfortable working with new technology, and committed to workplace safety.

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must complete Grade 12 with a minimum of 60% in Pre-Calculus 30 from a recognized college or institution.
  • Physics 30 is recommended to complete but is not required.

Language Requirments:

  • Students must be able to understand and fluently speak the language of instruction (English) in the program. Proof of linguistic proficiency may be required.
  • Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL Scores.
