Bachelor of Science [B.S] Mechanical Engineering - Aerospace Engineering Concentration

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering offers program leading to BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with an Aerospace Engineering Concentration. The program offers students a mechanical engineering degree foundation and specialized training in the aerospace discipline. Coursework focuses on aerospace fundamentals, including fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, controls, materials, propulsion, vector spaces, linear transformations and the fundamentals of probability and statistics. The required courses will provide an introduction to the processing steps required in aerospace development, with a focus on the design, scheduling, budgeting and building of a specified project.

An option has been developed to allow students at the University of Miami to have a concentration of courses in Aerospace Engineering. This concentration in aerospace is built on the existing accredited degree program in Mechanical Engineering.
