At Wayne State, you’ll participate in lab experiences and work with others to help them
achieve fitness for health and performance. With a background in exercise science, you’ll gain experience and knowledge that will prepare you for graduate programs, including physical and occupational therapy, medicine, and other health degrees.
The Health, Human Performance, and Sport Department prepares students for careers in exercise science, physical education, sport management, athletic training, strength and conditioning, and other careers related to health and human performance. With our state-of-the-art human performance laboratory, you’ll have access to elaborate equipment designed for a variety of testing needs, including BMI and skinfold testing, and V02 max treadmills. Our facilities and equipment are used for lifestyle assessment classes, physiology labs, training practicum students, and conducting research. The lab also serves as an educational and testing facility to numerous visitors within the region.
